
- 2 packs of fresh figs (8 figs per pack)
- 4 tbs red wine
- 4 tbs water
- 4 tbs brown sugar
- dash of salt
Place all ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. Let mixture simmer about 30 – 35 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer to a food processor and pulse until you reach a creamy, jam like consistency. Serve on toast or crackers.
* We spread a layer of cheese on our bread, some jam, then finished it off with a bit of course sea salt. We tried it with two kinds of cheese; Laughing Cow Light Swiss and a yummy mushroom brie. Both were awesome so I’d say you could get away with just about any soft cheese. Of course, the jam is just as good on it’s own!
